Ozarkhealthcare was started after seeing patients with Substance Use Disorders struggle with stigma, lack of access and choices in hospitals, clinics and in the community. Addiction is a chronic, relapsing mental health disorder. It requires care that is easily accessible, patient- centered, stigma free and based on the latest evidence based research. Our growth is centered around finding partners that share our philosophy.
Addiction fits the chronic disease model, however, it differs remarkably from other chronic diseases in its complex origins with roots in politics, economics, organized crime, philosophy, loneliness, chronic pain, public health, mental health and medicine. We strive to understand it and share our understanding with our patients and stake holders. We believe that understanding addiction is pivotal in treating it.
We support all evidence based treatment modalities, including abstinence, harm reduction, medication assistance with the understanding that treatment needs to be tailored to the patient in order to work.
